Respite Care Services

Respite Care Service has various meanings and interpretations.  It helps provide some relief to family caregivers or spouses.  Hopefully, giving them time to do errands or go to appointments. Also, a chance to re charge from the draining experience of being a full-time caregiver.

This service can occur in many forms.  Adult day care, hiring a paid Personal Care Agency or hiring another home care assistant.  Because respite care is typically partial and incomplete in nature, they often leave the bulk of the care & coordination for the full-time caregiver or spouse to handle.  This service is expensive at $25/hr. through an agency.  If you use a daily respite care worker, that is $3000/mo. for 4 hrs. of respite a day with no consistent back up.

Respite is needed and can be a life saver for a burned-out caregiver.
